About BVD
Bad Vision Design is the home of a multidisciplinary graphic designer. We create: brand identities, advertising and visual communications, websites and digital experiences, products and packaging.
BVD is idea driven. We aim to create unique, conceptual and forward-thinking projects. Our primary goal is to create a personal connection with the client — to create a piece of work that you can recognize yourself in, and can stand out from the crowd of trend-adhering designs.
We want to identify the quirks that define you and enhance those characteristics. To let others see who you really are, and who no one else can be.

We have a tendency to minimize our “flaws” however way we can; by enhancing aspects of our lives for social media; or the stories we tell people about ourselves — by being selective with the truth to disguise our perceived imperfections.
We’re afraid to show others how we really are, warts and all; out of fear of rejection and judgment. But our flaws make us relatable — they make us human. They’re the characteristics that differentiate us and lend us our charm and personality.
BVD strives to explore these facets of our humanity, and aims to display some vulnerability in a field which is obsessed with perfection.
My name is Abdulhakim Barkoumi and I'm the founder of Bad Vision Design.
My greatest strength is my ability to evaluate problems from multiple perspectives. I attribute it to my upbringing; since my parents are from the opposite ends of the Earth – my father being from Syria and my mother from Finland – I had to simultaneously navigate two drastically different cultures. This has fueled my conceptual work, since I’m able to intuitively combine seemingly unrelated ideas.
